CSC190 FAMILIARIZATION WITH COMPUTER
SYSTEMS
The course has an objective to provide students with a clear understanding
of today’s computer systems and the most useful application
programs. The course introduces first-year students to subjects
that have the intention of making them capable and expert users of
the most up-to-date computer systems.
CSC 200 INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTER
PROGRAMMING
I
The courses’ objective is to introduce computer programming to
students using program languages such as PASCAL. There is
furthermore, an introduction to programming techniques by using
practical program development.
MAT 090 ALGEBRA
The source is designed to introduce students to algebraic equations,
functions and inequalities. Linear equations, quadratic equations,
Graphs, Polynomial functions are analyzed within this course.
CSC 190 INTRODUCTION TO COMPUTERS
The course has as an objective to provide students with a clear
understanding of a broad spectrum of Computer Science. The
course introduces first-year students to subjects that compose a
spherical picture of Computer Science and its basic areas, starting
from its birth and reaching its modern evolutions
BUS 100 BASIC PRINCIPLES OF BUSINESS
The course aims at giving the student an overall understanding of
the business environment. It covers areas such as business trends,
global environments, business’ diversity, small businesses,
business management and marketing and managing financial
resources for businesses.
CSC 202 COMPUTER PROGRAMMING II
This course aims at giving emphasis on advanced features of
programming languages. Topics covered include text files and
enumerated data files, records, pointers and software engineering
and system life cycles. It is clearly a continuation of the CSC 200
course.
CSC 203 WEB DESIGN AND PROGRAMMING
Through this course the students will be introduced to the World
Wide Web and to the principles of web design and HTML. Additionally,
the basics on how to use web development tools like Fireworks,
Dreamweaver and/or FrontPage for constructing and maintaining
web sites will be taught.
CSC 205 VISUAL BASIC
This course aims to provide the students with an introduction to
programming applications for WINDOWS using event-driven and
object-based techniques. The objective of the course is to help
students learn how to program objects and graphics and build
windows applications.
CSC 204 NETWORKING
The course has an objective to provide students with a clear understanding
with a broad spectrum of networking. The course
introduces first year students to data and computer communication
fundamentals. Protocols, local and wide OSI and the Internet,
interconnection of networks.
HIS 100 HISTORY OF EUROPE SINCE 1850
The course is designed to educate students on the historical events
in Europe in the twentieth century. It involves historical events in a
political and social perspective of the First World War, the Second
World War and the cold war.
